Famous Filipino singer turned preacher Julius Obregon,  performed a musical concert at World Gourmet in Fremont last Wednesday, 7:00 pm Dec. 21 attended by about a hundred of people.   His songs combined with wits & humor said to be aimed at giving glory to Jesus as he frequently interjects gospel truths relevant to the Christmas season.   His 17 year old son, Jr  rendered a worship song and he played the guitar well.   Julius voice and songs sounded like old hits of Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennet while he wowed the crowd to join him in unison.   Presenting the gospel through music  is what the church too often deems a secular means but even more controversial was having a priest, Geoffrey Baraan, St. Anne Catholic church to manage the event.   They claimed being best friends for 10 years and  Julius emphasized that even though they differ in belief… it’s not about having a religion that matters but having a personal relationship with God.
